A Treat made out of necessity
Idaho Barkery was started in a 50 square foot kitchen by a pharmacist desperate to find a natural treat to give her dog. Her dog, Rocky, suffered from extreme allergies and could not tolerate store bought dog treats.
Today, they have formulated a hypoallergenic recipe ideal for dog parents concerned about the preservatives and filler that store bought dog treats offer. They've gone steps above to ensure treat safety by sending their treats for laboratory testing and approval by the Idaho State Department of Agriculture. Idaho Barkery has been recognized as a winner of the Boise Entrepreneur Week Pitch Competition, runner up for "Best New Gift" at SuperZoo 2025, Trailhead "Startup of the Year Award" 2025, and a top 3 nominee for the 2024, 2025, 2026 Best of Boise Pet Accessory Category.
